Pantone, the folks behind the standardized color reproduction system, has announced that the 2013 PANTONE Color of the Year is Emerald! Emerald is a vivid and rich green, often associated with the gemstone of the same name.
Twice a year the company hosts a secret meeting of representatives from various nations’ color standards groups. After two days of debate, they choose a color for the following year that helps guide future plans for fashion designers, florists, and many companies.
